Welcome to the Core Neighbourhoods of London

Let me start out by saying this: I live in the central core, in an old home that we are renovating, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I love the character of the London core, I like to know that I can walk downtown if I choose, I am always pleased when I survey the wide variety of architectural styles and materials in my neighbourhood, and I treasure the fact that, more often than not, my neighbours are on their front porch (rather than in a suburban backyard). Those of us who are fortunate enough to live in the central core neighbourhoods are blessed with quick access to the bike and walking trails, streets shaded by mature trees, good schools, good parks, beautiful homes at affordable prices and great neighbours. Some of the core neighbourhoods have fully-developed and mature community associations that are integral parts of the community's life – others are in the process of developing such local institutions.

I have tried to impart some sense of what each of these neighbourhoods is like in the following pages and to give each viewer access to information that might be of interest. There are discussions on neighbourhood amenities, architectural styles, neighbourhood virtual tours, school information, housing data including absorption rates and average prices, maps and neighbourhood services, and links to community groups and city services. I hope that at least some portion of this information is useful to you as you explore the core neighbourhoods of London.
